Veneers are a simple and predictable way of giving you the smile you have always wanted.

They can be used to straighten crooked teeth, close gaps or cover unsightly blemishes. Due to the minimal amount of tooth preparation (0.3 – 0.5 mm) and outstanding cosmetic properties, they are more often than not the treatment of choice in cosmetic cases.

What is a Veneer?

A veneer is a thin layer of restorative porcelain material which is bonded to the front surface of your tooth to restore the tooth to its ideal shape, position and shade.

The easiest thing to compare a veneer to is a false fingernail which does the same for your fingernail as a veneer does for your teeth.

If only a single veneer is required, then the treatment is generally completed over two visits. If multiple veneers are requested as part of a smile makeover, great care is taken to listen to exactly what you want your new smile to look like.

Once we have agreed on the goals of your treatment we then take impressions of your teeth from wich we cast models and carry out a diagnostic wax-up. This basically involves carrying out the proposed treatment on your models, thus allowing us to show you what your new smile will look like. If you are then happy to proceed with your treatment we will book you two further appointments.

At your first visit we will prepare your teeth, take impressions, and fit prototype veneers which allow us to assess the aesthetics and function of the restorations. Once we are both happy with the aesthetics and function we will take clinical photographs and impressions so the technician can copy the prototype, ensuring your final restorations meet all your treatment needs.

At your second visit we gently remove your prototype veneers and fit your Porcelain veneers.
